Gion Misen Hotel - Kyoto

The staff was amicable & welcoming;)))

we had a deluxe twin room with comfortable bed and a work desk, multi-channel television, and a sitting area. the decor was nice and the staff were extremely helpful.

Location in the middle of the city was a plus.

The staff were amicable and attentive. The hotel had an amazing location close to Takasegawa Ichino Funairi. It was in a quiet street.

Everyone was attentive and excellent, I felt very comfortable. The location was beautiful also very close to the bus that take you directly to Ginkaku shrine. And I truly enjoyed that it was near subway and several hotels/areas.

Staff were very friendly and the hotel was little, it had perfect location very close to the famous temples. Location: the property was near the shopping malls and the train station and several hotels / areas. We dined out at Teppanyaki Manryu, set easy walk to the hotel.

A minor nuisance compared to other cities with accessible transportation. The room size could be more spacious for comfort, especially for families.

The traditional shoji windows added a unique charm to the room.

The early morning light through the shoji windows was too bright for my partner.

The Superior Queen Room featured a fine traditional design, with a wooden ceiling that added a cozy touch and plenty of natural light pouring in. The hotel's location in a historic area made it effortless to wander through beautiful streets and immerse myself in local culture.

Breakfast, while mostly delicious, began a little late at 7:00 AM, which conflicted with my early plans to explore before the crowds hit popular sites. I found the key card replacement fee a bit cheap for such a price point. It felt out of place after spending a good sum on the stay.

Request extra pillows upon arrival for a more comfortable stay and check the breakfast options, as the Japanese style can be quite different.

I adored the traditional Japanese style of my Superior Queen Room, complemented by the charming wooden ceiling and great natural light. The location in Gion was superb, allowing me to explore the serene streets easily.

More storage space for longer stays would be helpful.

I had an amazing stay with a beautiful spacious room and elegant traditional decor! The breakfast was a delightful traditional treat. The bathroom was impeccably clean and stylish!

I loved the cozy room with a sloped dark wood ceiling and great natural light! The complimentary tea-making facilities were a nice touch, and the location allowed me to explore charming nearby alleyways. The Hotel hosted a fascinating Geisha event , which really enriched the experience.
